Event colorsThere are three ways to assign different colors to your events:
The normal way to use different colors for events is to use different calendars, please see the Calendars page. This way you can easily see by the color of an event what kind of event it is (e.g. "work", "home", ...).
Google event colors
Google added a way to assign different colors to events of the same calendar. CalenGoo supports this function when syncing directly with Google Calendar using OAuth2 (please see below).
However if for some reason you cannot use different calendars for your events, you can use the “Proprietary colors” feature (please see below). Then you can assign individual colors to events but they will be visible only in CalenGoo.
Proprietary colorsThe normal way to use different colors for events is to use different calendars, please see the Calendars page.
However if for some reason you cannot use different calendars for your events, there is a function in CalenGoo that allows you to assign different colors to events, the “Proprietary colors” function. However these colors will only be visible in CalenGoo, not in Google Calendar. The color information is saved into the event's description field so that it isn't lost if you have to delete and reinstall CalenGoo. You can turn this function on under "Settings", "Display and Use", "General", "Advanced", "Proprietary colors". Afterward you can choose a color when editing an event:
Google’s new “Color Code” function
Google has added a new function to change the color of single events instead of using different calendars:
To use it in CalenGoo, you have to authenticate CalenGoo using “OAuth2” as explained under “Authenticating via OAuth2” here:
(Just tap "Settings", "Login screen" to open CalenGoo’s login screen, then tap the gear icon in the lower right corner, choose "OAuth2 Login" and follow the instructions.)
If you already synced using another sync method (e.g. the normal password based method) you might see duplicates after configuring the new sync via OAuth2. Please tap “Settings”, “Reset calendars” once to remove them. It will erase all events and calendars in CalenGoo and re-download everything from Google.
When syncing this way, also your calendar colors will change. You can change them back or choose other colors for your calendars by tapping the blue button behind the calendar’s name under "Settings", "Visibility/Download".
